This book was not what I thought it was going to be. Alex and Amber are meant to be together. Amber thought running would allow Alex the best life possible. However turns out Alex couldn't get over his first love Amber. Amber moved on trying to continue her journey through life without Alex and when she met Brad she became a wife and a mother but her one true love was still out there, Alex. Another intriguing read by N. J. Salupo. The story of Amber and Alex is intense to say the least. The author did a great job with the details and bringing the characters to life. It played out nicely in my head without me feeling as if anything was missing. The book will grab your attention and keep you it. As soon as you get to the end, look out because you won't be expecting it. The end will bring tears.

Alex is in love with Amber even though she has been gone 3 years he has tried to find her and now that he has nothing will keep him away from her. Amber ran from Alex as she did something that he would never forgive her for. She is now married with a daughter but she is trying to get away from her husband Brad as she has had enough. Storm is a PI that was meant to spy on Amber but he found out what type of man Brad is he will do anything to get her away. Alex is so close and Strom is going to help him get her away safely. They both still feel the same about each other the spark has never dimmed but can it be enough. Amber wants to run again as she can't tell him her secret but Alex will accept her no matter what. Her secret is so heart breaking but Alex will still be there for her but is Amber strong enough to carry on? Hot sex most people's wildest dreams will come true. I loved that we got to see more about Alex & Amber's history and how Alex fights for the one true love. There is some smoking hot men & women and it makes you want to read more. This is the second book by this author that I have read. Although I didn't hate this book as much as the first one I read, it really wasn't much better. Alex and Amber are the main characters who met and fell in love. Then Amber decided to leave Alex and it takes him 3 years to find her (even though she still lives in the same city). The characters were not believable to me. Amber flip flops - does she love Alex or not? First she leaves him because she doesn't think she could love him the way he deserves. Then after not seeing him for 3 years, she's madly in love with him. Then it's 'he won't love me if he finds out the real me". Then "you need to stay away from me for your own good". I found her very confusing and very confused. I could not identify with Amber at all. She is written like a man's wet dream instead of based on reality. I understand that this is fiction, but it's not a paranormal genre so I expected a little bit of reality in it. This just doesn't have it. I found it very hard to like Alex. He checks out every other female in the book and thinks to himself how he would like to have sex with them. If he truly loved Amber, he wouldn't be thinking of having sex with someone else. I love my husband and I can appreciate another man that is attractive. Doesn't mean that I want to hop into bed with them all.
The way the author writes makes me think that they hate women. I'm all for an alpha male and some BDSM but all I kept thinking was how disrespectful to women everything was. For example, Alex was mad at Amber so when he found her he was gonna have sex with her butt whether she wanted to or not. WTF!?! That's not being alpha - that's just being a douche. The metaphors are horrible - pink sex cave, spunk pie. The list is endless. The writing is not bad - you can follow the storyline. It's just that it wasn't very logical. My overall impression is that the author had a bunch of sex scenes in mind and just wanted to figure out a way to string them all together into one story.
This book is a stand alone but does not have an HEA.
I have to say this story was ok. I love the cover and the Author. But the story was just ok. It was not bad. The story was kind of all over the place. Even so, I still finished it and was ok. I will still read more from this Author cause I do like his dirty mind.
I never write a review but feel the need to write one this time. This is the worst book that I have read in a long time. I had high hopes for it. I felt it jumped around a lot . It was confusing at times and did not have a HEA. Buyer beware not good 😞
This was a good book overall, and I was so not expecting the ending. I guess one really knows the length one would go to for happiness.
Hope's Desire is an awesome book I have to say I truly loved this book , awesome story it's a must read. a love story with a kick as always Raine Storm always leaves you thinking!
